Under the Dusty MoonUnder the Dusty Moon by Suzanne Sutherland

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 Dusty-Moon-Stars!!

I picked this book because of the beautiful cover and name. My expectations and what this book actually gives are two extremes.

Expectations :
1. Usage of ‘gaming’ terms and musical band terms.
2. About Vic’s love for video games.
3. A nice bestie and boyfriend.
4. Coming-of-age theme.

So the problem is that the blurb was misleading. The way it describes the book, one would consider it to be a coming-of-age book about growth as an individual, maturity etc, but it was nowhere seen in the MC, Vic. I was unsatisfied after finishing this book. All the characters are confusing and I found them to be selfish. There were a lot of geeky references to video games and comics but, they didn’t come out well. It was as if they were there just because they needed a mention.

It was bland. The scene, concept and plot, everything was really good but was wasted. I would have liked it more if the characters were more clear.

*I received a copy from Netgalley.*
