The road is lonely But already taken. Hoping it was you From whom she has retaken. Following your marks
Leaving her world behind.
Under this grey sky
Where both hopes entwined
Leaving at her life’s cost
Looking for you
Before you are lost…
I read the poem twice, the first time around, I thought it was sad and melancholic, the second time however, I was pleasantly surprised that I felt it was about marriage. These lines especially had me sitting down and figuring out what it was “Leaving her world behind.
Under this grey sky
Where both hopes entwined”
I am surprised to know your interpretation because this poem wasn’t really about marriage but it still fits! 😀
Actually, my friend wrote a poem from boy’s point of view and I rewrote it from the girl’s point of view. It looked like a complete poem in itself so I posted it on the blog.
But I really love your interpretation. It is better than mine… of what I had while writing 😛
Poignant, but beautifully written. 🙂
